| The UNITRACE is a capacitance probe that will show at which end of a cable an "open" occurs. Either you have a bad crimp, a poor solder joint or, even worse, an "insulation" crimp. The guessing starts: Which connector do I break open? If it's your lucky day, you will find the "open" on the first attempt. But, if your day has been miserable, you'll take the backshell off (drop a tiny screw, of which there is only one per connector), close up that side and then have a go to the other end of the cable... |
With UNITRACE THIS TYPE OF FRUSTRATION IS NO MORE!

|
The UNITRACE is the "little miracle" you have been hoping for all these years. It is easy to operate - Just turn it on. THERE IS NO UNNECESSARY NOISE - You will only get a sound when the UNITRACE encounters a contact to which a wire is attached. This is positive verification of the continuity. When touching the contact to which the wire IS properly attached, there will be a tone, BUT ONLY AT THAT END OF THE CABLE. The other end of the same wire will give you no tone, showing continuity between THAT contact and the wire does NOT exist.
The UNITRACE also can be used to check continuity, especially in repair situations, where continuity had previously been established. After extended use of cables, moving, flexing, etc., a wire breaks; most often at the contact. Here we go again! We know we have an "open", but at which end? WITH THE UNITRACE YOU HAVE A 100% CHANCE OF GOING TO THE FAULTY CONNECTOR - ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT!
